We have successfully filed & won the case against TN government through the Rajendrapattinam Panchayat to ensure that the authority to convene the Gram Sabha lies with the Village Panchayat, not the State Government, and that the District Collector’s permission is not required to convene the Gram Sabha. We have also filed a case through 3 panchayats (krishnasamudram, melanikuzhi & muthugapatti), seeking to revoke the amendments 104 and 106 made by the Government of Tamil Nadu to the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, by taking away the authority to transfer and punish the Panchayat Secretary from the Panchayat President and transferring it to the Block Development Officer (VP). This case is currently pending.

In addition, we are going to file a case against the Tamil Nadu Government and the Tamil Nadu Election Commission, demanding that the panchayat elections for the 28 districts whose terms ended on January 5, 2025, be held immediately.
